Osprey Backpacks have now been around for over 35 years. The founder Mike Pfotenhauer released his first design, the Outlander in 1979. Today Osprey Packs Inc is based in Colorado USA. Osprey Backpacks are sold all over the world to Weekend Warriors and Professional Mountaineers alike.
Osprey Aether 85 packs are extremely durable and built for years of use and abuse. They are perfect for a weekend jaunt or a long expedition into the wilderness.
All Osprey backpacks have a lifetime manufacture warranty against defects. Spring 2010 saw the launch of the third generation of the popular Osprey Aether 85.
All of the reviews I have found of this pack give it 4.5 – 5 stars out of 5. A point to note at this point, is that this pack is built for men. More of this later, but the Ladies out there should look at the Osprey Arial 75.
At the core of the Osprey Aether 85 is a very light alloy peripheral frame. They have patented a number of breakthrough designs that make this backpack one of the most comfortable out there. The secret to making this pack comfortable is in the adjustment. The Osprey Aether 85 has the trademark AirScape™ Suspension Fit Adjustment.
This pack comes in three sizes, Small Medium and Large and three colors, Dusk Blue, Magma Orange, Tundra Green. It is also available in three sizes, small, medium and large.
So why did I say this pack is built for men? This is because it comes with a moulded hip belt. All Aether/Ariel packs feature the IsoForm™ gender-specific harness that consists of dual density, spacer mesh foam with l sewn seams away from the body for added comfort
The Osprey Aether 85 backpack is a top loading detachable pack that also has three access points so you don’t have to pull everything out to access your high energy chocolate! There is also a red compression strap which pulls everything together nice and snug. If you need them, there are also two ice axe or tool loops. There are also two larger loops which you can put skis through. So all in all, I thoroughly recommend this pack for its design, versatility, comfort, and best of all, its price.
